How Why I'm Graduating from UCSB in 3 Years
I can tell you are a little frustrated with where you are at and you are venting some. It is ok. You have a tremendous amount of stress and things going on and you are still very young. When Law School is all over, you will look back at this and be so happy that you did it. I am working on my 4th masters and will be in Law School in 4 years. I am older and do not work on building relationships with other students, I just am older and don't fit in, so I stopped trying and am there just to learn. While it would be nice to have many friends, I am there to learn and that is what I do. I will likely do a PhD when I am done with Law School and it makes me happy to learn. Disconnecting from the social dynamic makes it easier for me. I remember when you started UCLA Law and you were so enthusiastic. It is a natural thing you are going through. You will be done soon and your life will blossom. Maybe if you focus on that it will make your time easier there. Also, I study culinary and baking at a J.C. when time permits. You may like to do some of that yourself. I think Santa Monica City College may have some culinary classes when you are done with UCLA, if not there, there are a lot of Community Colleges around UCLA that would offer them. Keep up the good work. We are all pulling for you.
Thank you for sharing your experience! 🙏🏼
That shirt looks dope bro! 😎 Also thanks for the knowledge!
this was awesome!
Congrats brotha! 👌🏾📚
Is crt nescessary for a law studies degree or are you taking it out of personal interest?
no, it is not! I’m taking it as part of the specialization I’m in :)
Is there anything like this for transfers from cc ?
Do you have any relation to the Honorable Alma Stallworth or Keith Stallworth (the Stallworth family) from Michigan? It isn’t a common name?
I love this video! Congrats on getting into UCLA Law! Do you think you could go into detail about applying for the SEO Law program? I've heard about it for years and I'll be applying soon, but I know it's very competitive.
What is leop? If you don’t mind explaining…😊
out of all the law school videos I watched, yours actually make law school look actually fun lol. I may have to go across the country to school idk!!
this was insanely helpful. thank you. ❤
Woah, gotta apply now. Had no idea they have a critical race program. Researching it now.
I’m looking into this program I’m graduating this May my school is a small private hbcu I don’t feel that I’m really prepared due to the educator shortage we faced I know majors doesn’t matter when it comes to applying even reading the Catalyst Law program I felt overwhelmed I really wanna pursue this program I’m the first college grad it’s really because I’ve been doing it all on my own
I have my mind set on the law schools I want to apply for but just with the lack of resources my school faced this year really negatively impacted me this program just sounds like a dream come true just based off what they represent for us
I meet the GPA requirements I have 3.5 but the work you mentioned in the video I feel like I might be under qualified to do I haven’t done much spread sheets or case studies I took a class that was Court Procedures and Constitutional Law we read some cases from Civil Rights and created our own case studies based on what we read but my prof didn’t guide us on how to do it it that makes sense ( I’m a Criminal Justice Major) that was during my junior year do you think I have a chance to apply for this summer program 2023? ?
Omg it watching your video I want to go to sb and when you said you were from Stockton I flipped
When did you submit all of your applications?
right before Halloween!
Can i see ur essay? To refference Thank you
Thanks for the vlog! I was thinking that law school wasn't going to allot me much time for my social life but this puts things into perspective. I'm getting ready to get out of the military and start my law school journey soon. Thanks again!
OMG I’M FAMOUS NOW❤
I like your videos. I am taking a break now for September. I just graduated from Seminary and will be taking time off from now until February. I am finishing a stent of going to mostly grad schools for about 12 years. I will be applying to law schools in September 2024 and I am not sure what to write for my essay. I will be applying to 10 schools. When I am done with Law School I now think I want to be a chaplain part time and also work as a part time attorney. I am not sure what application I will use in this. I feel like studying transactional law because I am not great on my feet. I am sure in time I can improve but I am a senior and right now do not want to put in that amount of time doing this, however I may. My question is what are your thoughts and advice in writing a personal statement? I think I want to study business law, but also I want to be a chaplain and do not know how to say this best. Thanks
can u make a video on what extra-curriculars u took? in college and before you went to law school?
we must have had similar stats because we had very similar cycle outcomes. that being said, i really regret not applying to ucla. i went to ucla for undergrad and REALLY wanted to move back to LA but talked myself out of it because it truly didnt think i could get in and the thought of being denied from my alma mater just had me in a chokehold.
That would be very nice. Thank you
Congratulations on getting a big law summer associate position!
thank you!!
Good advice. I have been going to school for 12 years straight and I am burned out. I finish in September and I plan on taking 5 months off. I am targeting fall 2024 for UCLA Law.
I definitely thinking taking time off is a great option! I hope to see you at UCLA Law!
Thanks for being honest and open. Blessings to you
thank you so much!
thanks! that helps
what residence hall?
Congratulations Michael!!!! 👏🏾👏🏾
These White Boys are eating US up with this weak ass Approach! Black Men Please Stand Up!
I'm so tried of Black Selfish Ball Players who like to drop video about Law School Admission, but do not want to drop LSAT scores. Your White Counter Part are dropping stats and LSAT scores and studies hard. Are we tho? Only 650 African-American were accepted to Law School in 21-22 admission cycle in Texas but their 60, 900 Black Male in Federal Prison today but you do not want to drop your "Stats" because it was a Holistic Process. It ain't Holistic Dude! It's the devil workshop at play!
Purrrr! So happy for you!
Starting my LSAT/application process as an undergrad now and glad to see a black man making content about it. Not alot of representation for us so love the video
What’s schools did you get off the waitlist for?
Great vid!! Pls make the video about the fee waiver! Thanks. & I love to see our black folks in law.
Wow Michael I just watched your video.."why I almost left UCSB".. congrats!!
I am glad that things worked out for you!! I wish you the best and may God give you the wisdom and the strength to overcome all obstacles. Please use your talent to serve your community!! Kudos to your strong and loving mother!!
Love the video! I’m starting law school this fall too, where are you headed?
how did you pay for university undergraduate and law school? about the costs for applying to both? you worked throughout your education?
Which law schools did you apply to and end up going to?
You're blessings. You live alone.
Glad I stumbled upon this video, and I am currently a senior graduating this May, and I am taking a gap year as well. I plan to attend in Fall 2023.
I just got accepted to UCSB. I don't know what I'll decide but, thank you for the first video with actually useful information.
If you go, let me know!!! Im going this fall too
did you end up going to ucsb? if so do you enjoy it?
@@robanaetaber2038 I go
@@awafall4454 yes I did and I love it
Can u please read everything. I would love that rather than u highlighting it. Thank u
I am applying here, see you in August!
I lived in San Nic a long time ago, way back in 2002-03. Many of the best and the worst times of my life took place in that hall. It was amazing to see this. The place still looks the same in many ways. Since this is 3 years old I guess you must be a senior now. Please enjoy it as much as you can. That school is a magical place.
A trip down memory lane! I lived there during the 1990-91 academic year. Thank you!!
What dorm is this?
he clearly has problems. sorry you had to experience that
Yo i saw u on the ucsb pamphlet
